Don't Count Yourself/Others Out Re: Sexual Sin & Don't Rejoice/Laugh Re: Sin

Last night I preached from Micah 7:8.

Micah 7:8 King James Version (KJV) 8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.

Micah 7:8 New International Version (NIV) 8 Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.

Micah 7:8 The Message (MSG) 8 Don’t, enemy, crow over me. I’m down, but I’m not out. I’m sitting in the dark right now, but God is my light.

Do not count yourself or others out re: past sexual sins. Don't let people count you out. Also do not rejoice when people fall into sexual sins or laugh about it.

Certain TV shows make jokes and mockery of ministers/televangelists, politicians, etc. falling into sin. But God says it is not funny.

People enjoy and laugh at talk shows where people are cheating, promiscuous, pretending to be a different gender, hiding that they are transgender, getting into catfights re: cheating, etc. God says that is not funny either.

Making up Halloween costumes where people are dressed as someone who commits sexual sins like date rape with drugs, or as someone who hits women, is not funny. Halloween in itself is sinful, which I have taught on many times before. But I'm dealing with it being a way people laugh at and mock sin.

As Christians we need to pray for sinners and encourage those that we can, not laugh at them.

When I wasn't saved I had that mindset re: enjoying those satire shows that made fun of the preachers and politicians who's sexual sins were exposed that week. When I heard about such sins, I would look forward to how comedians would make jokes and skits about them.

But once saved, I started feeling bad when stuff like that would happen, and pray for those who fell. I don't watch those satire shows that mock sin anymore.

As a Christian I found myself thinking some of those talk shows mocking and glorifying sex sins were funny. But God convicted me and delivered me from those as well.

I see now that sin is not funny, especially re: the fact that some of those folks will wind up in hell, and the fact that some will get delivered and don't need to be defined by their sins.
